The Danville Storytelling Festival (DSF) is a family-oriented event that acts as an “artistic social bridge” - bringing communities together and celebrating how we are all connected using the rich tradition of storytelling, performances, and activism. The festival is a free event that is open to the public. Don't wait, registration for tickets have been extended through July 15th, 2024.
Come join us at Averett University for a day filled with captivating tales, engaging performances, and a celebration of the art of storytelling. Our lineup of talented storytellers, also called "Griots," will transport you to different worlds with their words and leave you inspired and entertained. Whether you're a fan of folk tales, dancing fables, or personal anecdotes, there's something for everyone at this festival.
The DSF Digital Experience has "pre-recorded" performances with ASL & Spanish language interpretation. Click here to visit our DSF Youtube page to check it out!

DSF is committed to expanding accessibility to the festival through our digital experience. We also recognize that access to broadband is still a significant issue (particularly in rural areas). Therefore, we will continue to explore innovative accessibility options. The digital experience has "pre-recorded" performances accompanied by ASL & Spanish language interpretation.
